Searching for IDPA mentor/teacher/trainer/coach
« on: February 13, 2014, 03:49:02 PM »
My name is Brad and I live in Boise. I am an experienced pistol shooter, but not experienced with "action" pistol shooting. I would love to be able to meet someone who would be willing to introduce me to the IDPA sport. If it matters, I have an Idaho CCW permit. I own a Beretta 92FS 9mm and a Kahr PM9 9mm.

Thank you for any leads you might provide me for someone who could at least get me started.

Bradley
There are it's of people that would be more than happy to help you out. Your best bet is to go shoot a match. I think the next one is the indoor match at impact but I could be wrong so make sure to check the schedule.
If you're looking for one on one coaching I can help you with that.  Let me know and well see what we can get going.

Definitely the indoor IDPA match at Impact is a great way to get started! This month there were a lot of first time shooters. They are on the first Thursday of each month at 6:00 PM. Be early because we had a huge turnout last time and they may need to cut off the number of shooters. Also, Nampa and Parma have IDPA, check each ranges calendars for scheduling. You do not have to be a member to shoot a match at either one.

Hey Brad,

Parma Rod and Gun Club will have a IDPA match next Saturday(2/22/14) show up and let us know you are a new shooter, and you will be paired up with an experience shooter to make sure the match is fun and you learn a lot.
